🎆 Friday, July 3, 2026: The “Night Before” Early Celebrations

If you want to beat the massive Saturday crowds or double down on your holiday weekend celebrations, these Friday night block parties are the perfect way to kick things off.

Costa Mesa | Independence Day Community Celebration

  • Time: 5:00 PM – 11:00 PM (Fireworks at 9:00 PM)
  • Location: OC Fair & Event Center (Lot A), 88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa
  • The Vibe: High energy, local community fun.
  • Local Tip: Admission and parking are 100% free this year! Toss your favorite lawn chairs and a picnic dinner in the trunk and enjoy the live music. Just remember: leave the hard-sided coolers, glass bottles, and outside alcohol at home—security will be checking at the gates.

Cypress | Salute to America Celebration

  • Time: 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM (Live music by Pop Vision at 7:00 PM; Fireworks at 9:00 PM)
  • Location: Cypress College, 9200 Valley View Street, Cypress
  • The Vibe: Double the milestone! Cypress is celebrating its 70th city anniversary alongside the nation’s 250th.
  • Local Tip: It is festival-style lawn seating, but they are strict about no early entry or spot-saving before 5:30 PM. Show up right on time to grab a prime piece of grass.

Los Alamitos & Seal Beach | 3rd of July Fireworks Spectacular

  • Time: Gates open at 4:00 PM (Fireworks at 9:00 PM)
  • Location: Joint Forces Training Base (Enter through Lexington or Orangewood gates)
  • The Vibe: Deeply patriotic and community-driven, hosted on an active military base.
  • Local Tip: This is a drive-in/walk-in lawn event. Note that foot and bicycle traffic directly through the main gates isn’t allowed for safety, so plan to park inside. There’s a great local food court, live entertainment, and a massive beer garden.

Orange | 3rd of July Celebration

  • Time: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Patriotic Music Program at 8:00 PM; Fireworks at dark)
  • Location: Grijalva Park, 368 North Prospect Street, Orange
  • The Vibe: Charming, hometown Americana.
  • Local Tip: The food truck lineup here is always incredible. Come hungry, let the kids burn off some energy at the community game booths, and settle in for a fantastic localized music program right before the sunset fireworks show.

🇺🇸 Saturday, July 4, 2026: The Main Event

Aliso Viejo | AVCA July 4th Celebration & Fireworks

  • Time: 4:00 PM – 9:30 PM (Live music by country band Young Guns from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM; Fireworks at 9:00 PM)
  • Location: Grand Park, 6101 City Lights Dr., Aliso Viejo
  • The Vibe: Complete family wonderland. Inflatable obstacle courses, caricature artists, face painting, and great food trucks.
  • Local Tip: Park space saving opens early at 6:00 AM, and you can only use blankets or low-backed chairs. Leave pets at home—Grand Park hosts a specialized low-level fireworks show, meaning the fallout lines are close and the noise can be intense for furry friends!

Anaheim Hills | Anaheim Hills 4th of July Celebration

  • Time: All-Day Event (7:00 AM Firecracker 5K/10K; 9:00 AM Yankee Doodle Dog Show at Canyon High; 1:00 PM Parade along Santa Ana Canyon Rd; 3:00 PM Festival; 9:00 PM Fireworks)
  • Location: Canyon High School (Morning) & Peralta Canyon Park (Afternoon/Evening)
  • The Vibe: A non-stop, community-wide marathon of holiday spirit.
  • Local Tip: Keep an eye on road closures! Santa Ana Canyon Road will experience major closures between Imperial Highway and Fairmont Boulevard from mid-morning through the parade. Plan your routes early if you’re heading down to Peralta Park for the evening food trucks.

Buena Park | Knott’s Berry Farm 4th of July Fest

  • Time: Park hours vary; Fireworks display at 9:30 PM
  • Location: Knott’s Berry Farm, 8039 Beach Blvd, Buena Park
  • The Vibe: Theme park thrills meets giant-scale pyrotechnics.

Dana Point | Independence Day Fireworks Extravaganza

  • Time: 9:00 PM (Look up for the famous Condor Squadron WWII Flyover at 5:50 PM!)
  • Location: Doheny State Beach / Dana Point Harbor
  • The Vibe: Coastal luxury. A massive display launched from an offshore ocean barge, completely synchronized to a patriotic music broadcast.
  • Local Tip: Parking in the harbor is notoriously tight on the 4th. Take advantage of the free Dana Point Trolley, which runs all the way until 8:30 PM. Also, if you fancy getting out on the water, look into booking an evening fireworks cruise via Dana Wharf Sportfishing.

Fullerton | 4th of July Downtown Fireworks

  • Time: 10:00 AM Bike Parade; Evening event from 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Launch at 9:00 PM)
  • Location: Downtown Fullerton & Wilshire Ave
  • The Vibe: Historic downtown block party centered strictly around the evening sky.
  • Local Tip: Important layout shift for 2026: Fullerton has streamlined its event this year to focus strictly on the aerial fireworks display over downtown—there will be no live music stages or food trucks on-site at the park. Use this as the perfect excuse to book a patio dinner reservation at one of Downtown Fullerton’s fantastic local restaurants before looking up at 9:00 PM!

Huntington Beach | 122nd Annual 4th of July Parade & Pier Festival

  • Time: 7:00 AM Surf City Run; 10:00 AM Parade; 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM Main Street Block Party; 9:00 PM Fireworks Over the Ocean
  • Location: Huntington Beach Pier & Main Street

  • Local Tip: This is our backyard, and it is going to be electric. The Main Street Block Party will feature live sets from The Ramsey Brothers and Redneck Rodeo to bridge the gap between the morning parade and the night show. The beach parking lot gates open at 5:00 AM on Saturday, and they will tow anyone trying to camp overnight from July 3rd. Get down here early!

Ladera Ranch | 4th of July Celebration & Freedom Run

  • Time: 7:00 AM Freedom Run; 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM Community Festival; 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM Concert (90s Rock Show); Fireworks at dark
  • Location: Founders Park, 28275 Avendale Blvd, Ladera Ranch
  • The Vibe: Master-planned community perfection with an awesome 90s rock tribute concert.
  • Local Tip: While the fireworks and live music are free to enjoy, note that the afternoon kids’ activity zone (bungee jumps, giant slides, rock walls, zip lines) requires purchasing an activity wristband.

Laguna Beach | City of Laguna Beach Fireworks Display

  • Time: 9:00 PM (Condor Squadron Flyover at 5:45 PM)
  • Location: Monument Point at Heisler Park, 375 Cliff Drive
  • The Vibe: Jaw-dropping ocean views and upscale coastal charm.
  • Local Tip: Monument Point is closed all day for pyrotechnic setup, and the entire heart of Heisler Park (from Myrtle to Jasmine Street) shuts down to the public at 5:00 PM. Park further up and walk down, or use the local coastal shuttles. Also, note that Laguna Beach strictly bans all personal fireworks—even “Safe and Sane” ones—so leave the sparklers at home.

Laguna Hills | America250 Fourth of July Celebration

Laguna Niguel | 4th of July All-Day Celebration

  • Time: 8:00 AM 5K Run/Walk; 6:00 PM Concert by The Suffragettes; 9:00 PM Fireworks Spectacular

  • Local Tip: Keep an eye out for a brilliant 6-plane acrobatic smoke flyover twisting over Crown Valley Parkway around 5:30 PM! The evening concert takes place at Crown Valley, but the fireworks are launched directly over the lake at the Regional Park for maximum visual magic.

Mission Viejo | Annual Street Faire and Fireworks Spectacular

  • Time: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM (Fireworks launch at 9:00 PM)
  • Location: Olympiad Road (between Marguerite Parkway and Melinda Road)
  • The Vibe: A classic, massive blacktop street fair layout.

Gates open at 8:00 AM for an all-day beach party with food trucks and watersports. Reserved parking inside the Dunes is $100 pre-paid, so carpool or ride your bikes if you want to save!

  • Location: Lago Santa Margarita Lakeshore Park
  • The Vibe: High-end lakeside community celebration.
  • Local Tip: At 8:45 PM, right before the show, the winners of the local 2026 Voice of SAMLARC singing competition will perform a cappella renditions of our national anthems. The firework reflections dancing off the lake water make this one of the most picturesque hidden gems in South OC.

San Clemente | Pier Fireworks Show & Downhill Derby

  • Time: 9:00 AM Office Chair Downhill Derby; 6:00 PM Condor Squadron Flyover; 9:00 PM Fireworks
  • Location: San Clemente Municipal Pier, 622 Avenida Del Mar
  • The Vibe: Uniquely beachy, quirky, and local.
  • Local Tip: Start your morning at 9:00 AM on Avenida Victoria to watch the hilarious annual Office Chair Downhill Derby (yes, people race modified office chairs down the hill!). Afterward, transition to the beach. The pier itself will be closed all day for safety prep, but the view of the fireworks launching over the ocean from the sand is completely unmatched.
