Huntington Beach Community Garden
Does growing your own organic food and contributing to the community sound appealing? Of course it does! In today’s episode, we introduce you to the Huntington Beach Community Garden. A non-profit organization, based 100% on volunteer efforts, encourages 10% of the gardener’s yields to be donated to the community. Since its inception in the spring of 2011, the garden has provided thousands of pounds of fresh food to our local community. Join the Huntington Beach Community Garden today!
Stipe Lasic, the Sackin Stone Marketing Director, is our special guest today. He manages our company’s garden and runs the organization’s social media page. He touches on how the garden is perfect for those who have little to no yard space but want to enjoy the many benefits of gardening. To become a member, you must complete an application and pay an annual $20/member fee. Once approved, you are ready to set up your garden! Choose between a full plot (15×20) for $150/year or a half plot for $75/year.
